By inspirational speaker, Swiyyah Woodard. Can those with a disability be successful in business? Sure they can. I want to inspire you to become a business owner. People with disabilities own more companies than people without disabilities. The secret is to find something you love to do, something that you can do for free. Start off by volunteering. There’s a such thing as positive stress and negative stress. Negative stress is what happens when you work a stressful 9 to 5 job.
You really don’t want to be at work. The customers get irate and there’s little you can do about this. Challenges occur that you don’t know how to overcome. Supervisors put more work on you than you can handle. All of this adds to your stress. All of this is negative stress. But when you’re doing a job that is fun you’re a natural at it. You quickly attack problems. You rarely get an unsatisfied customer because you’re working from your heart, and you get a load of work that you can actually handle. This is positive stress and I believe those with a disability can easily handle this type of job. I was misdiagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but I have a mental illness and I can not work a daily 9 to 5 but I blog and I find it easy. I write and I find it easy. I’m a TV producer and I find it easy. And I’m an actress and I find it easy. Start developing a list of different talents that you can do for free. The money will come eventually because you’re doing it from your heart. When you pass and are in front of Jesus will you be proud or will you realize you’ve wasted your life? I’m here to tell you that I am going to be proud and you should too. Do everything in your power to make a difference. No way do I want to waste my life. Your life is serious. You want to live this life not just survive it. Don’t allow your disability to interfere with your progress. I never knew I would write a book. When I had a break from reality God revealed to me that a movie would be made about me and after I got out of the hospital I immediately started writing my book. I told no one. I kept my dream to myself until I was finished and then I shared it. And I suggest you do the same with your dream. I want to inspire you to reach greatness. Click on book cover to buy book.
